A novel concept of having a centre of happiness and well-being has livened up the atmosphere on the campus of CT institutes.

Colourful smiling faces painted on the walls, and well-meaning quotes on happiness, faith and life attract the freshers to the centre.

The sessions conducted by the centre for all new entrants is helping them to ease out and pursue their studies without any pressure.

Amrit Kalsi, HoD of the centre and a trainer said: “A proper schedule has been made for all new classes wherein I take introductory session with freshers and ask them to introduce themselves standing in front of the mirror. Each student is given three to four minutes and asked to speak up on what he thinks about himself, his capabilities, objectives in life and some negative points on which he wants to improve himself.”

“The students are counselled in various ways by being given tips on improving concentration, role plays, open house discussions, dance and music, games, brainstorming and creative learning,” she added.

Kalsi shares that she even takes individual counselling of all students asking them to share with her any problem that they are facing on the campus, hostel or home and seek easy solutions from her.

She said: “My most common tip to all is to wear a smile on their face all the time. Frown fades away and handling of difficulties and worries automatically becomes far easier.”

“I try to interact with parents separately. Even staff members sometimes approach me with their personal issues. My experience as a trainer with corporates has helped me gain more experience and made me a professional in the field.”
