Phagwara: The police have arrested a youth, Sonu, a resident of Mohalla Tibbi, and recovered 20 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession. A case under the Excise Act has been registered against him. OC

Man held for theft

Phagwara: The police have arrested a thief identified as Jaggi, a resident of Jalandhar, on the charges of stealing a racing cycle worth Rs 90,000. OC

Earrings snatched

Phagwara: Two unidentified persons snatched gold earrings, weighing 10 grams, from Balwinder Kaur, a resident of Subhash Nagar, here on Wednesday. The accused managed to flee in a car. The police have registered a case under Section 379 B of the Indian Penal Code. OC
