Two unidentified youths snatched a mobile phone from an Amritsar resident, Raghav Sharma, who was standing near the door of Ludhiana-bound Shane-e-Punjab Express last evening.

The incident occurred soon after the train left the Phagwara railway station after which the victim fell from the running train on the tracks and sustained serious injuries. The victim, a BSc nursing student of CMC, Ludhiana, was going to Ludhiana from Amritsar. He was admitted to the CMC.

Anil Kumar, the brother of the victim, told mediapersons here on Monday that though he went to the GRP post at the Phagwara railway station today to register an FIR but the GRP lodged a complaint regarding the loss of the mobile phone of the victim. He insisted GRP officials to register an FIR regarding the snatching of the phone against two unidentified miscreants but they failed to do so. Meanwhile, GRP in-charge Gurbheij Singh said he was only informed about the loss of the phone.
