Jalandhar, September 6
Around 300 employees and pensioners from four districts - Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr under the banner Punjab Subordinate Services Federation gathered at the roadways office on Wednesday to protest against the government.
The members said it had been eighteen months since the government came into being, but their demands had not been met. They said before the Shahkot bypolls, the government had promised to regularise them, but so far no concrete steps had been taken. The members said the next rally would be held in Patiala and the members were left with no choice, but to observe an indefinite fast. The rally in Patiala will be held on October 23. —TNS
