The Lovely Professional University, in association with Spinal Cord Injury Association (SCIA) organised ‘Vistaar’ 2018 - the 4th Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Conference, at LPU campus.
During the doctors’ Session, leading specialists in Neurology, Urology, Nephrology, Spine Injuries, Embryology, and Infertility counselled the affected persons for rehabilitation and inspired them for independent and respect worthy social life. In addition, various problems related to fertility, sexuality, urinary tract infections, pressure sores and other issues related to spine injuries were discussed by renowned doctors from across India, and solutions were offered for tackling individual concerns during the one-to-one interaction session.
During the interactive session, Priya, Miss India 2015 (Wheel Chair) shared: “I think, everybody in this world is disabled in one or the other form. Our suffering should not make us dejected rather we should overcome and enjoy it. I appeal that government agencies should come forward to provide, to persons like me, computer applications based and allied jobs, like content writing etc., that can be done while sitting at home.
Similarly, Anand Arnold, 4 times Mr India (Wheel Chair) and 12 times Mr Punjab (Wheel Chair), exhibited his robust physique and inspired everyone that disability is in our mind only. He said, “Make the most of it, live a blessed life even in such a condition. I have worked for Bollywood and Hollywood films and a book has also been written on my achievements.”
