Two held with snatched chain

Phagwara: The Satnampura police, headed by Station House Officer Onkar Singh Brar, on Friday arrested two persons and recovered a snatched gold chain and a stolen motorcycle (bearing registration No. PB 09AD 5008 from their possession. The suspects, identified as Gurwinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh of Bhanoki village, were involved in snatching a gold chain from New Mansa Devi Nagar resident Shaanpreet Kaur on Thursday. A case under Section 379-B of the IPC has been registered. OC

Illicit liquor recovered

Phagwara: The Government Railway Police have seized six boxes of illicit liquor lying abandoned on a platform at the local railway station on Friday. GRP in-charge Gurbheij Singh said nobody came to  the GRP to claim these boxes. A case under the Excise Act has been registered. OC

Cash stolen from purse

Phagwara: Rs 13,000 was found stolen from the purse of a woman, Sukhwinder Kaur, who went to a showroom near the local bus stand to purchase something  on Friday. The police have registered a case and scanning footage of CCTV cameras. OC
