The J&K Government today said there was no report about Rohingyas Muslims settled in the state getting radicalised.

In a written reply in the state Assembly, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who is also the Minister-In-charge (Home), said at least 5,107 members of Rohingyas (Burmese) are putting up in the state.

“No reports regarding radicalisation of these Rohingyas have been received so far. However, their children are reportedly being provided education and six madrasas are located in Bathindi, Sujwaan and Narwarl areas of Jammu district,” the Chief Minister said.

The question was asked by MLA Sat Paul Sharma who wanted to know about the status of Rohingyas and if any organisations were collecting funds to help them.

“No reports regarding collection of funds by any organisations in the name of helping these people have been received so far,” the Minister in charge Home said. — TNS
