The local Delhi Public School (DPS) is all set to hold the biggest technical event for the schools in the Valley on August 19- 20.

More than 40 schools are participating in the two-day event.

Ehsan Quddusi, event coordinator, said the programme titled ‘Techknow’ would continue for two days on the school campus in Athwajan, Srinagar, and would be the biggest technological event for the students in Kashmir, where they would be trained by experts.

“This is the largest technical event for the schools in J&K. The event is wholly by and for the students,” he added.

Qudussi said the event would have multiple technological workshops for 300 students from 40 schools.

“There will be a workshop on drone operations by the country’s top experts. Besides this, everything else will be handled by the students themselves, who have been trained and had achievements in technology at a young age,” he added.

In all, 10 students will hold workshops on graphic designing, web design and development, video editing and animation, and PHP programming, Qudussi said.

“We have added a few more workshops based on the recent trends — robotics and internet of things, mobile dev, 3D printing and quadcopter development,” said a student.

The students said they were part of the technical group, ‘Cyber crew’, which was actively involved in innovation and have come up with their own startups.
