Katra varsity researchers win laurels

JAMMU: Ruchi Shah and Sonali Verma, research students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, won silver and bronze medals, respectively, under the prestigious ‘Atal Vani Puraskar’.

Ruchi Shah and Sonali Verma, research students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, won silver and bronze medals, respectively, under the prestigious ‘Atal Vani Puraskar’.

Shah received the award for her work on esophageal carcinoma, under her guide Swarkar Sharma. They also showcased their works through poster and paper presentations at ‘Atal Protsahan Satra’ in a two-day international cancer conference held at the university.

In poster presentation, Rasool Bhat, Vaishali and Akash bagged the top three positions, respectively. The genetics group of the university is a leading research-oriented group working assiduously to cure fatal diseases.
