‘Life’s awesome with Bips’

Karan Singh Grover, who has recently made his digital debut with ALTBalaji’s new web series BOSS, talks to us about the show, his role, his career and how has life been after marriage with Bipasha Basu. Read on:

Tell us about your web show.

BOSS is an abbreviation for Baap of Special Services. The character I am playing has so many shades in it and apart from that the show has everything —thrill, action, comedy and romance.

Did you have to do research on your character?

Actually I asked my director if there is any back story or references of the character I am playing else I will do my research. He gave me references of two shows and their characters. I went through everything, researched a bit and it’s actually a mix of two characters.

How do you look at your career? 

I feel it when I am all by myself without television, film or anything, because I need nothing more than my voice, a pen, a paper or a wall and paint. And I am very lucky that I am a performing artiste. So, there isn’t anything other than me who can satisfy myself. It comes from within and we need to discover it.

Web series have become so much popular today that it is giving strong competition to films. Your comments...

Everything has got its own charm, be it web series or films. We cannot really compare it. Apart from that everyone needs entertainment and it comes from both web series and films.

How is life with Bipasha? 

Life is awesome with her. She filled my life with so much love and happiness. The feeling is something beyond everything, which I can’t express. She spreads positive vibes wherever she goes. 

How does she encourage you in your career, health and fitness?

She keeps encouraging me every time, gives me career tips, criticises me. She speaks whatever comes to her mind no matter how I feel because she loves me and helps me grow.
