After Bure Bure Hum, actor-singer Ali Quli Mirza is ready with another peppy, club track, called Ishqam. A collaboration with Mika, this Mirzapur actor is sure of another hit.

“Just like Bure Bure, this is going to be a success,” opens up Ali, who is as much in love with acting as singing. Ali has to his credit Roar: Tigers of the Sundarban, Bigg Boss and Mirzapur.  Does he have trouble choosing one over the other? “No. I always make time for all that I love.” Mirzapur is one experience he is loving to the hilt. “Web series is an excellent platform. I have had a good tuning with Guddu bhai (Ali Fazal) on the sets.”

Also, it was Bigg Boss 8, where he came out as number two, got him attention. “It’s a mad house in there,” he shares exasperatedly. So, what kept him in there till the last? “Every week, you get money which is the catch.” As for any tips to succeed in the BB house, he says, “Make a fool of yourself. Go berserk and make others go berserk. As long as you are grabbing TRP, you last in that pagal khana.”

As for singing, it’s in Mohammed Rafi that he finds his inspiration, “He is my guru, he is the one who I have been listening to all my life,” says Ali, who says he is blessed with a good voice and inclination for music. “Mere gale main Saraswati hai,” says he confidently. Though lately, he is taking training, he insists, “I am learning the sur-taal, though I feel I was born with it.”

He can sing in seven languages and his latest, Ishqam is an Arabic-Punjabi mix. “The beats are catchy,” he claims.—TNS
