In Anne of Green Gables, a famous novel by L.M Montgomery, adapted into TV series, music, plays, animation and what not, Anne had a liking to puffed shoulders to an extent that she considered them to be the only sleeves worth knowing. 

Puffed sleeves are best suited for pear-shaped body to accentuate the shoulders in order to sway the attention from legs to the upper half. It is also suited for lean bodies which lack curves or with no definite waistline.

The renowned Gen Next fashion designer, Mohammed Mazhar considers puff sleeves a boon to the drop shoulders body and gives a nice shape to the same. He further adds “One can rock the puffed dress with high-waist best or pair it with Victorian and retro accessory. Also, a new version of puffed sleeves called dolphin sleeve will work wonders to the overall look if you are a fan of classic puffs”.

Wear it like the Kapoor sisters 

Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor never shy away from the camera and every year they up their game and they get better each time.

This year, when Kareena graced the finale of Koffee with Karan with Priyanka Chopra, who said, “we’ve brought spunk along”, of course, they carried it in their sleeves where Kareena was wearing a red puffed dress.

Similarly, Karisma Kapoor gives way to the sibling bond sporting the puffer look many a time in dresses as well as coats, looking stunning.

Balmain’s angel

Olivier Rousteing, the man behind the brand Balmain, based his entire Spring 2019 collection around nothing but puffed shoulders. Beyonce appeared in NAACP Image Awards wearing one of the attires making a statement with the puffed cape maxi dress. Lionie Hanne, a German fashion influencer who runs a blog ohhcouture, wore all-white embellished dress, designed by Rousteing. The same outfit was donned by Milla Jovovich, who was recently seen in Hellboy and popular for the leading role in Resident Evil series.

Coachella vibes

Arian Grande rocked the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with her music as well as her style quotient.  She donned a violet dress with puffed shoulders with bows hanging around her shoulders. 

Lauren Eve Mayberry’s outfit from the last weekend at Coachella was much like Ariana’s, with the only difference that she was donning it with frills and laces flowing all over the upper half of her body. She is the singer of Chvrches (pronounced as churches), a band from Glasgow, Scotland.
