Sania Mirza joins MTV series for a cause

The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has caused new challenges for those suffering from Tuberculosis (TB) across India. TB patients are vulnerable to severe Covid-19 infection and the pandemic has made it more challenging for them to access both medical care and social support. To combat this, MTV Nishedh Alone Together, a special campaign, will focus on raising awareness about TB.

The five-episode mini-series will start on November 27 and will be aired every Friday. The series will see renowned sportsperson Sania Mirza champion this social cause.

Sania says, “In India, one person dies of TB, almost every minute. This alarming figure reflects the negligence about the disease and it is reason enough for me to associate with MTV Nishedh Alone Together. The current Covid-19 pandemic has seriously disrupted TB diagnosis and treatment services in India. I hope my participation helps.”
