Ludhiana, December 6

Two motorcycle-borne youths allegedly misbehaved with PCR personnel and also snatched the mobile phone of one of the policemen. The suspects have been identified as Deepak Bhohal and Kuldeep Chauhan, both residents of Phase III, Dugri.

The complainant, ASI Jasvir Singh said yesterday during routine patrolling, they noticed two youths on a motorcycle who were making loud cracking sound from the silencer. They were immediately made to stop and asked to produce the documents of the bike. Instead of showing their documents, both youths started arguing with the policemen.

“When the head constable accompanying me tried to make a call to the police station for help, one of the youths snatched his mobile phone. They even tried to attack the head constable on duty,” said Jasvir.

A large number of people gathered there. The wife of Kuldeep also reached there. She took the mobile phone from her husband and handed it over to the policemen.

A case under section 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty), IPC, and 190 (2) of the Motor Vehicle Act has been registered against the suspects. The police have impounded the motorcycle.
