Ludhiana: The police have arrested two persons with two stolen motorcycles from the T-Point on Humbran Road near Phangla village on Thursday. The duo, identified as Lakshman Paswan, resident of Dashmesh Nagar, and Mohit, resident of Baranhara village, have been booked under Sections 379, 411 and 34 of the IPC. The police said the accused were intercepted at a police check post on a tip-off when the duo were coming on a Bajaj Platina motorcycle (PB-10CS-1979) and Hero Honda CD Dawn (PB-10AZ-9997). Both motorcycles were stolen ones. OC
Snatcher held, 8 mobile phones recovered
Ludhiana: The police nabbed a thief/snatcher, identified as Ketan Kumar, resident of CRPF Colony, Urban Estate Phase I, Dugri, from Labour Colony, Urban Estate, Phase I, Dugri, on a tip-off. Eight stolen/snatched mobile phones of different makes were recovered from Ketan, who has been booked under Sections 380 and 411 of the IPC. OC
2 motorcycles stolen
Ludhiana: One Hero Splendor motorcycle (PB-10GW-0384) was stolen from outside a house in New Janta Nagar. A complaint was lodged with the police by Jagdeep Singh on Thursday that his motorcycle, which was parked outside his house, was stolen by some unknown person. The police have registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC. Another motorcycle was stolen from outside a sports goods shop in Guru Teg Bhadaur Market here on Wednesday. Shivaji Sharma complained to the police that his motorcycle Hero Honda Passion (PB-10BM-7710) was parked outside the shop, from where it was stolen. The police have registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC. OC
Mobile phone, purse snatched
Ludhiana: Three motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a mobile phone and wallet containing money from Dinesh Kumar, an employee of a transport company located in the Industrial Area-A on Thursday. The complainant said he was returning on his motorcycle after meeting his friend. “When I reached near the office of Kesri Nandan Transport Cargo Movers Transport, three motorcycle-borne persons accosted me and fled after snatching my Oppo mobile phone and purse containing cash,” said the victim. The police have registered a case under Sections 379-B and 34 of the IPC. OC
Laptop stolen from I-T office
Ludhiana: Thieves broke into the office of Income Tax Commissioner (Appeals), Unit-4, located in Grand Walk Mall, and stole an HP Probook laptop. On the complaint filed by I-T Inspector Harkesh Meena, the police have registered a case under Section 380 of the IPC. OC
