Ludhiana, September 2
Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal went live on Facebook on Tuesday and held interactions with residents over various issues related to Covid-19.
He said since the imposition of the lockdown in the district, the Ludhiana police have issued 65,000 challans for various violations and collected Rs3 crore as fine. The collected fine was handed over to the Health Department.
Agrawal said despite huge awareness, residents could be seen roaming on city roads without masks. “This month is crucial and we should cooperate to win the battle against the virus. We should avoid crowding to prevent its spread. If people will not follow the guidelines, the police will act tough against offenders,” Agrawal added.
People raised several queries, most of which were answered by the official. Agrawal said now five buses were already available on city roads to conduct door-to-door testing for Covid and people having any symptom should get themselves tested.
