BJP leaders have once again opposed the MC’s decision to issue notices to shopkeepers for the recovery of the CLU charges.
They alleged that the MC has wrongly sent notices to the shopkeepers in Field Ganj, Chauri Sadak, Hambran Road and other areas, directing them to pay the CLU charges.
The leaders also submitted a memorandum to the MC Commissioner in this regard today. Inder Aggarwal, Convenor, BJP Local Bodies Cell, Ludhiana, alleged that the MC’s action of serving such notices is’ illegal’. He said, “As per 2013 notification, no CLU fee can be charged if old building is reconstructed. Now, the MC is ignoring these notifications. As per the law, the MC can’t issue notices to the shopkeepers for collection of the CLU charges.” — TNS
