BSNL staff protest freezing of IDA

Ludhiana, November 25

A massive dharna in front of the BSNL office at the Bharat Nagar chowk was organised by all unions and associations of the BSNL in favour of their long-pending demands.

Avtar Singh, district secretary of the BSNLEU and convener, AUAB, Ludhiana, addressed the gathering.

He said the Narendra Modi-led Central Government had frozen three instalments of the industrial dearness allowance (IDA) and the AUAB had organised protest demonstrations across the country today against the matter.

Vinay Kumar Raina, district secretary, NFTE, Ludhiana, said the management was doing injustice to BSNL employees. It was not paying their salaries on time. They condemned the orders of freezing the three instalments of the IDA.

Vipin Kumar, Hardesh Raj, SP Singh and Harvinder Singh were among those others who spoke.
