LUDHIANA: National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA), Ludhiana branch, organised a Continuous Medical Education (CME) session in the city on Sunday. It was attended by several doctors of the district.

National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA), Ludhiana branch, organised a Continuous Medical Education (CME) session in the city on Sunday. It was attended by several doctors of the district.

Dr RP Singh, chief interventional cardiology, Pancham Hospital, was the guest faculty. He spoke about update on innovative procedures in interventional cardiology.

Dr Surinder Gupta said the recent study had shown that despite progress in the field of management of cardiovascular diseases, India was still lagging behind the rest of the world. Cardiovascular related deaths have increased and the reason behind it was yet to be detected. Dr Surinder Gupta appealed to all family physicians to be on their toes to curtail this trend by timely initiation of antihypertensive or anti-cholesterol medication. — TNS
