Congress supporting rehri mafia: LIP

LUDHIANA: The Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) has once again opposed fee being charged from street vendors.

Ludhiana, December 10

The Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) has once again opposed fee being charged from street vendors. The party blamed some civic body officials for allegedly running nexus with rehri mafia to harass vendors.

The LIP leader and former councillor Randhir Singh Sivia said the civic body collects Rs 1,500 - Rs 5,000 fee from street vendors. The financial condition of the civic body is poor and authorities want to carry out development work with collection of fee and taxes from vendors.

“By sparing big defaulters, the civic body has been focusing to collect money from street vendors. Some Congress leaders support rehri mafia. Voters are ready to teach a lesson to the Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. People are upset with wrong policies of the state and Central governments,” he said. TNS
