Ludhiana, November 30

The Ludhiana police today organised a cyber awareness workshop for police officials. This workshop was organised by the cyber cell.

Students of Police DAV School, Sacred Heart School, Jamalpur, also participated in the workshop.

Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal, DCP (Law and Order) Ashwani Kapoor, DCP Akhil Chaudhary, DCP SS Dhindsa, ADCP Headquarters and Security Deepak Pareek, ADCP Jaskiranjit Singh Teja, along with other ADCPs, ACPs and SHOs attended the workshop.

Rakshit Tandon, a cyber expert from Delhi, apprised the cops of the challenges in cyber security and ways to overcome it. Tandon told the cops that every second day, cyber criminals found new ways to commit cyber fraud and the police need to be updated about every aspect of cyber fraud.

Senior cops also asked several questions to the cyber expert to clear their doubts. Even school students showed enthusiasm and asked questions about the prevailing cyber frauds.

Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal said Tandon explained to us about frauds being done through credit cards, OLX, Facebook ads, Google search etc. “Tackling cyber crime is a major challenge for any police organisation as due to increase in digital payment, more and more cyber crimes are coming to notice. This kind of seminar will definitely enhance police officers’ knowledge and will empower them to investigate cyber crimes in efficient manner,” he added.

He said the police would continue to hold such seminars to update the force about the prevailing cyber challenges.
