The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Virinder Aggarwal has acquitted the alleged gangster Gaurav Sharma, alias Gorru Bacha, along with five others of the charges of killing Vikrant Kumar of Dhandra Road over a parking dispute in 2016, as the prime prosecution witnesses turned hostile.
The others acquitted in the case are Mandeep Sharma of Chander Nagar, Vipin Kumar of Dr Ambedkar Nagar, Model Town; Gurmeet Singh of Preet Nagar, Dugri; Jatinder Singh of Phagwara and Arjun Singh of Satjot Nagar, Dhandra Road, Ludhiana.
A case against them was registered at the Dugri police station on April 7, 2016, following a complaint by Vikas Kumar, brother of the deceased.
The complainant had told the police he, along with his brother, was going to his house after parking mini-buses on the street.
Around 4 pm, Gaurav Sharma, along with his accomplices, reached there and started abusing Vikrant. They asked him to remove the mini-buses from the street as they wanted to park their vehicle at that place. During the ensuing arguments, Gaurav fired twice with his pistol at Vikrant. The bullets hit the victim in the neck and in the lower part of his waist. Thereafter, they fled the spot in their SUV. Vikrant was taken to Pancham Hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The complainant in the case and his mother Deviyanti Devi retracted from the statements given to the police in the case.
