The Punjab DGP, Dinkar Gupta, has appreciated the role of OCCU and vowed to eradicate gangster menace from the state.

The DGP has announced to suitable award for the OCCU team. The DGP has also tasked the OCCU to look after prosecution of all serious cases registered against gangsters.

On the night of June 1, 2020, Ramandeep Singh (30) of Bulara village was killed in an attack by a group of criminals, led by Sonu Kancha, at Kwality Chowk, Shimlapuri. His friend identified as Gagandeep Singh of Jujhar Nagar was injured in the attack.
