Ludhiana, November 29

The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports North Zone Football Championship concluded at the GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, today. The host team qualified for the nationals by defeating Graphic Era team by 2-0. The tournament was held from November 27 to 29.

Dharampreet Singh from the GHG Khalsa College was declared man-of-the match for his outstanding performance in the final game.

In the senior girls’ category, Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School booked their berth in the national by defeating Gorkha Military Inter College team by 4-0. Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun, thrashed Davinder International Public School, Ludhiana, by 3-0 and qualified for nationals in the junior boys’ category. The winners of this zone would compete with their counterparts from other zones.

Preety Mehta, Head, Reliance Foundation, was the chief guest on the last day of the tournament. She was extended a warm welcome by the college president Manjit Singh Gill and Principal Dr SS Deol. Gill thanked the Reliance Foundation for providing sporting avenues for youth to showcase their talent.
