Guru Ram Rai Public School beat GMT School in cliffhanger

LUDHIANA: Guru Ram Rai Public School clinched a cliff-hanger in super over against GMT Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, during the First BCM Premier Cricket League (U-16) being played at BCM Senior Secondary School, Sector-32, here on Tuesday.

Guru Ram Rai Public School clinched a cliff-hanger in super over against GMT Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, during the First BCM Premier Cricket League (U-16) being played at BCM Senior Secondary School, Sector-32, here on Tuesday.

Guru Ram Rai Public School won the toss and chose to bat first. In the stipulated 20 overs, they scored 99 runs in which Lovejit made 45 runs off 38 balls, Rohan chipped in with 18 runs in eight deliveries while Amandeep faced 11 balls and contributed 12 runs.

For GMT Public School, Vivek, Harsh and Bharat claimed three wickets each after conceding 10, 18 and 19 runs, respectively.

Chasing the modest target, GMT Public School could muster 99 runs with four balls to spare. Himanshu contributed 25 runs in 30 balls and Mandeep scored 17 off 26 balls while Munish made 12 in eight balls.

Vivek of Guru Ram Rai Public School who bowled four overs and grabbed three wickets for 10 runs, was adjudged the man of the match. — OC
