Ludhiana, September 18
To promote hockey at the grass-roots level, a centre to train aspiring players from the city will be set up here, shortly.
Harinder Singh Bhullar, former hockey coach and assistant director, Physical Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), will start the Hockey Skills Development Centre at the Prithipal Singh Memorial Astroturf Hockey Stadium on the university campus here.
Bhullar said players (boys) between the age of 12 to 16 years will be enrolled with the centre wherein they would be imparted coaching/training free of cost. “If there is sufficient number of players, more coaches would be engaged to polish the skills and prepare them for future competitions,” he said. — OC
