Ludhiana, September 14
The city police have booked president of Shiv Sena Punjab Rajiv Tandon and at least 15 other party activists under Sections 188, 269 and 270 of the IPC and Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act for taking out a march followed by a protest at railway station yesterday.
Led by Tandon, the Shiv Sena Punjab activists took out a march to the railway station where the national flag was hoisted as a symbolic protest against the call for ‘rail roko’ agitation given by Gurpatwant Singh Pannu-led Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) on September 13 to focus on increasing suicides by farmers and other issues related to the Sikh community.
Sub-inspector Kuldeep Singh from City Kotwali, who was on duty at Gate No. 2 of railway station, filed a report that Tandon and other party activists had gathered at the railway station and were raising slogans.
The police said those booked for the protest included Sandeep Thapar, Amit Arora, Arvind Walia, Prince Sharma, Summer D’Souza, Ajay Mishra, Ritesh Raja, Hemant Thakur, Ashwani Chopra, Rohit Joshi, Bhanu Pratap Singh and around half a dozen unidentified workers of Shiv Sena.
