Ludhiana: The Parkash Purb of Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated with devotion and fervour at Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Ludhiana, on Wednesday. The programme began with the bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib by the students and staff members of the college. Thereafter, shabad kirtan was recited. Students recited hymns from the gurbani and verses in praise of the Guru. Langar was served for all the students, staff members and sangat, which was carried for the entire day.
‘Punjab, Punjabiyat ate Virasat ’
The Postgraduate Department of Punjabi of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organised a one-day international seminar in the college auditorium titled “Punjab, Punjabiyat ate Punjabi Virasat de Parmukh Nayak” on Tuesday. The seminar was organised in collaboration with Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada. Principal Dr Iqbal Kaur accorded a warm welcome to the guests and delegates. Faculty, scholars and researchers participated in the seminar. Event coordinator Dr Narinderjeet Kaur, associate professor, Punjabi Department, apprised the audience about the seminar and its key aspects.
Awareness against drug abuse
The NSS Unit and Legal Literacy Club of GHG Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd, organised a “Drug Awareness Campaign” at Government High School, Jandi. The campaign was organised in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ludhiana and Jagraon. It aimed to educate young minds about the perils of substance abuse and empower them with knowledge to make their future choices.
