Ludhiana: Municipal Commissioner Shena Aggarwal on Wednesday issued directions to officials of the MC health branch to issue a maximum of challans against single-use plastic in the city. During a meeting at in the Zone D office, the Commissioner also asked the senior veterinary officer to issue challans against illegal slaughtering of animals (for meat) in the city. She asked the officials of the health branch to ensure source segregation of the waste and door-to-door collection of garbage in the city. She asked them to finalise the tendering process for purchasing mechanical sweeping machines.
