In 2019, MC House had given its nod to a resolution regarding a fee structure for registration of small and large animals. Any pet without a licence and MC token will be taken away by the civic body while the pet owner will have to pay a fine of Rs 100 per day till he gets a licence, according to information.

The pet owners will have to inform the MC officials immediately if they see any rabies symptoms in their pets. The ailing pets will be treated at a veterinary facility under the supervision of the MC.

While submitting an application, a pet owner will have to make a declaration that the owner of the dog shall not let loose his dog in any public street or public place and always take out the dog secured with a leash, chain or a muzzle. The owner shall be responsible for all actions of his dog, including causing nuisance or harm to any person.
