Man attempts to kill married daughter

A man allegedly attempted to kill his married daughter on Friday because she failed to bear a child. The suspect inflicted serious injuries on his daughter’s throat and neck.

As per the SHO, police Division No. 6, Amarjit Singh, the injured was identified as Rupinder Kaur (25). The victim got married to Gurdeep Singh of Daba about one-and-a-half-year ago. Due to some medical issues she could not give birth to child. Even her husband took medical treatment, but to no avail.

About four months ago, woman’s father Kulwant Singh, a resident of Daba Road, took her to his home for treatment so that she could bear a child.

On Friday, when the victim was sleeping on the first floor at her father’s home, latter brought an axe and attacked her. After inflicting serious injuries on his daughter’s neck and throat, the suspect went downstairs.

Interestingly, despite seriously injuring his daughter the suspect tried to kill her by putting quilts and cushions on her mouth.

Almost two hours later, the suspect himself called at the police control room and admitted that he had seriously injured his daughter. He requested cops to take his daughter to hospital. Later, the police arrested the suspect.
