Singer Harbhajan Mann has called dope tests by politicians as pointless and urged them to work collectively to find a solution to drug menace.

He carried out a march as the week-long protest campaign “Maro Ja Virodh Karo” concluded on Saturday.

Mann, who was accompanied by other singers, including Raj Kakra, Lakha Sidana and Gurchet Chitrakar, said people have started standing up against drug nuisance unitedly and it must be weeded out of Punjab.

He added that he fails to understand how dope tests being carried out by politicians will solve the problem of drug abuse. He said being elected representatives they should not be indulging in useless antics, but instead work seriously to find a solution.

He said Punjabi singers have sung enough songs related to weaponry, vodka etc but now is the time that singers become responsible towards youngsters.

Singer Surinder Shinda, Jasbir Jassi along with former president of the Punjab Sahit Akademi Gurbhajan Singh Gill along with incumbent president Ravinder Bhatthal said folk singers have to become a part of this campaign against drugs.
