MC directed to measure flow of sewer discharge

LUDHIANA: The Local Government has asked the Ludhiana MC to measure flow of sewer discharge in sewerage treatment plants (STPs) and the Buddha Nullah.

The Local Government has asked the Ludhiana MC to measure flow of sewer discharge in sewerage treatment plants (STPs) and the Buddha Nullah.

Principal Secretary of Local Government held a meeting with officials of the MC at Chandigarh to discuss plans to increase capacity of STPs in the city.

An MC official said the Local Government has asked them to submit report on current flow of sewer discharge at STPs. The existing three STPs are not sufficient to treat entire sewer water of the city.

There is plan to set up a new STP at Jamalpur.
