Ludhiana, December 16

Employees working under the National Health Mission are observing a strike these days due to which works of the Health Department are being affected. Employees are demanding regularisation of their jobs. The protesting employees include nurses, community health officers and doctors.

“We are working on a contractual basis for the past 15 years on meagre salaries but the government has turned a deaf ear towards our issues. Even during Covid-induced pandemic, we have performed our duties but the government seems to be inconsiderate towards our demands,” said a protester.

Members of the Punjab State Ministerial Union today joined the protest of the NHM employees.
