Ludhiana, December 6

The Ludhiana police have set up a pound for towed vehicles at the Sarabha Nagar police station. Vehicles towed from various roads and markets in Model Town, Dugri, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Rajguru Nagar, Sarabha Nagar and nearby areas would be taken to the Sarabha Nagar police station from Friday.

The decision has been taken so that getting towed vehicles back is easy after the fine is paid. Traffic police ACP Gurdev Singh said the police had already started towing wrongly parked vehicles in the city. “The system helps to control the traffic,” he said.

Earlier, wrongly parked vehicles were towed away and taken to the Traffic Complex, Police Lines. For public convenience, senior police officers issued instructions for the setting up of an area for towed vehicles so that people could easily get back their vehicles after paying fine.

People can call at police helpline 78370-18932 for the recovery of towed vehicles. ACP Gurdev Singh said the vehicle owner could get their towed vehicle back after paying the requisite fine to the police.
