In a state committee meeting held at Krishan Kumar Kaushal Memorial Bhawan, Doraha, members of the Marxist Communist Party of India (United) decided to support the candidates of Samyukt Samaj Morcha (SSM) in the Assembly elections. The meeting was presided over by Pawan Kumar Kaushal. Prem Singh Bhangu, member, Polit Bureau, MCPI (U) and member parliamentary committee of the (SSM) and Kuldeep Singh, national general secretary, MCPI (U) also attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Bhangu said the (SSM) was formed out of respect for the sentiments of the people and against the capitalists and corporate houses. “The SSM aims to protect the interests of farmers and common people for the prosperity of Punjab,” the members said.

Commenting on the deteriorating law and order situation in the country and state, Comrade Kuldeep Singh said: “The BJP can stoop to any level in order to win the elections. No other ruling party has tested the patience of the public in the manner, in which BJP did during its tenure,” he added.

In the meeting, state secretary Pawan Kumar Kaushal said it is for the first time in the history of Punjab that a viable alternative has been given against opportunistic traditional parties. He urged people to vote for the candidates of the SSM.
