Punjabi varsity clinch chess c’ship trophy

Ludhiana, September 10

Shanti Tara Girls College, Ahmedgarh, organised an inter-college chess competition, in which as many as 12 individual players and 17 teams from colleges affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala, participated.

Under the boys category, SD College, Barnala, stood first; Shahid Udam Singh Government College, Sunam secured second position; and Rajindra Government College, Patiala, clinched third position.

Under the girls category, Punjabi University, Patiala, came first; Baba Farid College, Bathinda, bagged second position; and Shri Guru Teg Bahadur College, Anandpur Sahib, came third. —TNS
