The Division 5 police conducted a raid at Sniper Bar, near Kochar Market, last night. Bouncers hired by the owner of the bar and other employees misbehaved with the police, following which a case was registered against 11 persons, including the bar owner. While the bouncers and employees were arrested, raids were being conducted to arrest the owner.

The police said when the police party reached the bar, the bouncers did not let them enter the premises. They stopped the police at the entrance so that persons smoking hookah inside the bar could escape from the backdoor.

The Division 5 Station House Officer, SI Richa, said those arrested have been identified as bouncers Varinder Singh, Pankaj and Bhalwan Singh, workers Rahul, Lalit, Deepak, Ayat Singh, Arjun, Gobind and Pankaj. The bar owner, Jasmeet Singh, has absconded.

The SHO said the police had received information that hookah was served at the bar and it remained open after 11 pm which is against the law. The police raided the bar around 1.30 am. When bouncers did not let the police enter the bar, additional force was called, said the SHO.
