Rotary Club provides furniture to govt schools



Mandi Ahmedgarh, August 31

Continuing their movement launched as part of the Global Rotary India Literacy Mission, units of Rotary Club distributed benches and desks to government and private aided schools of the region.

Ahmedgarh and Malerkotla SDM Vikramjit Singh Panthey inaugurated the movement while Dr Ravinder Sharma chaired the inaugural function held at MGMN Senior Secondary School, Ahmedgarh.

Bipan Sethi, convener of the project, said activists led by president Tarsem Garg and secretary Venu Gopal Sharma had launched a coordinated movement to provide required facilities to students of government and private aided school of the region as a part of the Rotary India Literacy Mission. Rotarian families had been providing uniforms, books and stationery among poor students besides installing hand wash stations and water coolers at schools adopted by the organisation, Sethi said. — OC
