Ludhiana, March 4

About 50-60 workers and supporters of SAD (A) were rounded up at Doraha today when they were trying to sit on the railway tracks in support of Amritpal Singh and several others lodged at the Dibrugarh jail in Assam.

Darshan Singh, president SAD (A) Ludhiana Urban, said the police rounded up the party’s supporters and workers at Doraha as they were protesting against the jail authorities of Dibrugarh. “Senior leaders from other districts have reached Doraha for the release of those detained by the authorities. We are against the jail authorities’ approach in putting CCTVs in washrooms to keep an eye on Amritpal Singh,” said the president.

All over Punjab, a rail roko call for two hours was given for today by Simranjit Singh Mann’s party SAD (A). The party wants release of the ‘Bandi Sikhs’ and is protesting against the action of jail authorities in Assam where Amritpal Singh is lodged.

As the senior functionaries waited, the detained persons were released after 6 pm.
