LUDHIANA: In a shocking incident, a six-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding and rashly driven Bolero, a commercial vehicle, on the Gokul road today morning.

In a shocking incident, a six-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding and rashly driven Bolero, a commercial vehicle, on the Gokul road today morning. The boy was waiting for the school bus when he was crushed by the vehicle.

The deceased has been identified as Harshit, a resident of Gulchaman street. He was a grandson of Laddu Patang Wala, a kite seller.

As per the available information, on Wednesday morning at around 6 am, the boy along with his aunt was waiting for the school bus on the Gokul road, few metres away from his house. Suddenly, a speeding Bolero loaded with some goods hit the boy, who was standing on the road and crushed him. The Bolero driver immediately fled from the spot after the accident. The boy was rushed to the nearby hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.

The ACP (Central), Waryam Singh, said the boy was a first standard student of DAV School. He boarded school bus from the Gokul road every day, the ACP added. Unfortunately today, he was hit by rashly driven Bolero, the ACP said.

Since driver fled after the accident, a police team was on the job to trace him. A case was registered against the driver and his vehicle impounded by the police.

After the accident, area residents damaged the vehicle. A police team reached the spot and pacified residents.
