Snatchers held with 19 stolen mobiles

LUDHIANA: The police have arrested a mobile phone snatcher and recovered 19 stolen mobile phones from his possession.

The police have arrested a mobile phone snatcher and recovered 19 stolen mobile phones from his possession. He has been identified as Rajan Sharma, alias Gorkha, a resident of Mohalla Kundanpuri, here. The police have also confiscated a car used by the accused.

Rajan was arrested by a police team from Division Number 8 near the Gol Market area following a tip-off on Friday.

“Rajan was going in a car to sell stolen mobile phones. The police seized 19 mobile phones of various brands,”said Head Constable Ashok Kumar.  The police have registered a case against him at the Division Number 8 police station. 

“During preliminary questioning, the accused confessed that he snatched mobile phones from people near railway tracks. He was also wanted in other cases registered against him at separate police stations in the city,” said Ashok.
