The Ludhiana rural police launched the campaign, ‘Mission Fateh’, to save residents from Covid-19. Senior Superintendent of Police Vivek Sheel Soni flagged off a special vehicle to distribute masks and sanitisers in villages.
The SSP told residents that purpose of the drive was to save people from falling prey to the pandemic. He asked people to stay home. If they have to move out for jobs or for any other purpose, they should take all precautions.
The SSP said a special vehicle carrying masks and sanitisers for free distribution was also sent to villages.
Soni also apprised people about guidelines related to the Covid-19. As per guidelines, the SSP said one should wash hands frequently, always wear masks, maintain social distancing and download the Cova mobile application.
If anyone found not wearing masks, a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed. Spitting in public places will invite a fine of Rs 500, violation of social distancing norm at business places or home quarantine facility to invite a fine of Rs 2,000.
Violation of social distancing in cars to invite a fine of Rs 2,000, in bus Rs 3,000 and in auto-rickshaw or two-wheelers Rs 500.
