Ludhiana, April 2
Twenty persons, who attended the “tablighi jamaat markaz” at Hazrat Nizamuddin in New Delhi, have been identified to be residents of areas under Ludhiana Commissionerate, Khanna and Raikot. The police have formed teams to trace them and put them under quarantine.
Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal said of 20 persons, 17 resided in areas under the Ludhiana Commissionerate. “We have addresses of all identified persons. We have contacted six of them, their samples taken and they have been home-quarantined. Our officers are on job to contact the remaining persons,” said the CP.
Agrawal said according to the preliminary probe, those persons had returned to their native places on March 10. According to the list, these persons are living in areas of Jamalpur, Haibowal, Sarabha Nagar, Daba, Hargobind Nagar, Basti Jodhewal, Daresi, Shivpuri, Islam Ganj and Tibba
Ludhiana Rural SSP Vivek Sheel Soni said the persons on the list who were said to be living at Jagraon were traced to Khanna. They have been home-quarantined. A man of Raikot mentioned on the list is at present living in Delhi and the one of Sidhwan Bet has been in Bihar for the past few months.
