Top cop spreads message of staying fit, live yoga on Facebook

Ludhiana, May 18

Ludhiana Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal organised a live yoga session on Facebook to spread the message of staying fit in life.

Around 22,000 people watched the live yoga session on Facebook. The Police Commissioner performed various asanas, including ‘jal neti’, ‘kapalbhati’, and ‘anulom vilom’, among others.

While talking to The Tribune, Agrawal, said, “In this war against Covid-19, we have to be mentally and physically strong. We have to learn to live with Covid. We cannot live a good life if we fear the virus. It’s just an effort to spread the message of staying fit in life, among the masses.”

The Police Commissioner said he had been doing yoga from the past eight years and it was a great source of energy.

He said experts from Ayurveda and homeopathy would also be roped in.

Satnam Singh, a follower, commented: “Well done. Officials like you help the people to learn how to live a healthy life. It’s great that Ludhiana has a personality like you.”

Rajesh Gupta wrote: “Nice to watch that the Police Commissioner is setting an example on how to manage stress during testing times.”

“This is another side of yours after meticulous policing,” said Kamal Soi.

Vinod Kumar commented: “It seems that you are a professional yoga teacher. Give some useful fitness tips to the unfit policemen as well.”

Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal said it’s time to adopt the lifestyle which was followed three decades ago. Now, I do not use air-conditioner at my office, home and even in my car.”
