LUDHIANA: The police have arrested two bike lifters.

Ludhiana, February 18

The police have arrested two bike lifters. The suspects have been identified as Sumit Kumar, a resident of Shiwalik Avenue in the Partap Pura area, and Raju, a resident of Balaji Nagar, near Punjab Agricultural University (PAU).

The police also recovered four stolen two-wheelers, including three motorcycles and one scooter, from the possession of the suspects.

As per information, the suspects were arrested near the Rakh Bagh area yesterday evening by a police team from Division No. 8 police station.

Giving details, the ACP, Civil Lines, Sartaj Singh Chahal, said suspects were arrested following a tip-off while they were going to sell a stolen bike.

The police also recovered three more stolen two-wheelers on the basis of information provided by the suspects. The police have registered a case against the duo under Sections 379, 411 and 34 of the IPC and further investigation is on.

“During preliminary questioning, the suspects have confessed their involvement in at least four bike theft incidents. Some more revelations are expected from them during further investigation,” the ACP added.
