Two held with 12 mobiles

LUDHIANA: Crime branch II has nabbed two snatchers and recovered 12 stolen mobiles from their possession.



Ludhiana, September 17

Crime branch II has nabbed two snatchers and recovered 12 stolen mobiles from their possession. The suspects, identified as Dalip Kumar, native of UP and at present resident of Bajigar Colony; and Vivek Kumar Bodhi, a native of Bihar and at present resident of Prem Colony, have confessed to having committed about 20 snatchings in the recent past.

Additional DCP (Crime) Dayama Harish Om Parkash, ACP Mandeep Singh and ACP Surinder Mohan addressed a press conference on the matter. Dayama said acting on a tip-off, the two snatchers were nabbed with 12 stolen mobile phones and a motorcycle at Seera village. They had put up a fake number plate on their motorcycle.

The ADCP said CIA 2 also nabbed a woman of EWS Colony with 30 kg of ganja. She is already facing two cases. The woman’s husband, Thulu Ram, sons and her daughter-in-law Anchal are facing 29 cases of smuggling and assault. — TNS
