Two sodomise minor boy

Ludhiana: Two men allegedly sodomised a minor boy at Jagraon city. They have been identified as Bara Singh and Balraj Singh, both residents of Agwar Dala village in Jagraon. The complainant, a resident of Agwar, told the police that his son was 17 years old. On August 3, he was playing outside home where the suspects indulged him in talk and then they took him to Balraj's house. "Both sodomised my son and threatened him with life if he revealed anything to the family," he alleged. The police have registered a case under section 377 of the IPC and arrested both suspects. TNS

Women peddlers held with opium

Ludhiana:The Model Town police have nabbed two women peddlers and recovered opium from their possession. Model Town SHO Rajanpal said during routine patrolling at Kamla Nagar, a resident of the area was nabbed and 250 gram of opium was recovered from her possession. The woman, also from the same locality, was nabbed with 260 gram of opium. The SHO said both were going to deliver narcotics to their clients. TNS

Man held with illicit liquor

Ludhiana:The anti-smuggling cell of the city police has nabbed a liquor peddler and recovered 70 bottles of liquor from him. He has been identified as Sandeep Kumar of Azad Nagar. In charge of the cell Yashpal Sharma said acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at the house of the suspect. A case under the Excise Act has been registered against him. TNS
