Winning and losing is a part of the game!

Various competitions are held in the school so that kids get to learn the true spirit of competition, the art of playing together, and also to handle the winning and losing part. Recently, a school organised a sports meet for tiny tots and it was really nice to see how they were competing with each other while also appreciating each other’s win.

Then there are always some kids who take losing to their heart. It was nice the way teachers were handling the kids and making them understand the meaning of winning and losing. “Lessons learnt early in the life stay with you always”- I thought after seeing a kid crying for medals and the teacher making him understand the reality of life.

All that glitters is not gold!

With the advent of summers, one can see tempting fruits, eatable and drink carts alongside the roads. These prove to be welcoming not only to the commuters but are also synonym to welcoming the summer season. Fruit vendors always look towards people going on the road as their probable customers and give them welcoming looks. But a few days back, these vendors had different kind of visitors.

The vehicle that stopped nearby was not carrying customers but a team of health department. Vendors, especially those selling fruit chats, juice or lemon soda were seen fleeing from the site. Those who used to happily greet the customers - were today trying to run away with grumpy faces. The team first went to a vendor who welcomed them and asked them to have a juice in the scorching heat.

The team collected the sample of the juice and the vendor was later heard saying, “All that glitters is not gold, seeing six people, I thought I will make some quick bucks and welcomed them but I only put myself in the risk. They took samples from my cart. Although I prepare everything in a hygienic way, but still I’m worried about the result and will have to make rounds of the department to collect reports”.
