Anirban Das Blah — co-founder of Kwan Entertainment which manages several top celebrities — who had to quit the company following allegations of sexual harassment, allegedly attempted suicide on Friday, police said.

According to police officials, they received a tip-off about a man wandering aimlessly on the Navi Mumbai bridge early this morning.

A patrol team from the traffic police department found Blah trying to climb the barricades on the side of the bridge in order to jump into the sea below and pulled him down.

“He was in tears and wanted to die,” police inspector Anil Deshmukh from the Vashi police station told reporters.

Police officials said Blah was depressed at having been sacked from the company he founded.

Blah was kept in the Vashi police station and his family was summoned. They later took him away, Deshmukh said.

Kwan Entertainment had asked Blah to step down from the company earlier this week after several women accused him of sexual harassment on social media.

“The past few days have been very disturbing to everyone in the light of the #MeToo movement and it has pushed us all to take a step back and introspect whether each of us is doing enough to create a healthy and safe environment,” Kwan said in its statement on asking Blah to step down.

The company manages a number of A-list celebrities such as Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Following allegations of harassment against Blah, Kwan Entertainment said the other ten partners of the company will be taking over his stake in the venture.
